AGM 2023 Minutes

Thank you to the small number of residents that attended last week’s AGM in Luttrellstown Community Centre.

Mark presented the updates and information about the residents association. This included information about the Riverwood Aware text alert service, the website (and the funding of both), Facebook page visitor numbers, security issues, our deputation meeting in 2022, junior tennis coaching and the Enjoy Tennis programme, the DART+ West project, finances and biodiversity group.

At the end of the presentation the committee election took place. As there were no new volunteers the committee stays the same (Mark McMenamin, Damien Carbery, Seamus Power and Mike Clinton).

After this attendees raised issues about security and community spirit. We brainstormed solutions and ideas. One idea, to aid both security and community spirit was evening walks. For community spirit, it was suggested that clean up mornings be held weekly or forthnightly, like groups in Laurel Lodge do.

Communications

The Riverwood Aware service costs €10 per month. As we are not actively fundraising, and sending out a large number of texts (to ~300 subscribers) is complicated, we are considering moving the service to a WhatsApp Broadcast List.

Local Facebook groups

The presentation listed some local private Facebook groups that might be of interest to residents:
