First step in biodiversity plan

Fingal County Council Operations are starting to work through the biodiversity plan that we agreed with them. The first step was to plant some perennial flowers in the area between Riverwood Glebe and Chase. This area previously had lavender and other plants but they became overrun with nettles and other weeds.

To help reduce the maintenance required a weed blocking membrane was installed and then the plants placed in openings that were cut into them. The openings are wide enough to allow the plants fill out as they grow. Then the area was covered with a thick layer of wood bark mulch.
