Riverwood resident Patricia Bourke passed away last week. As people were unable to attend the funeral, another resident organised a guard of honour for her hearse as it left for the church on Friday morning.
Despite the terrible rain, a good number of residents came out to show their support for her husband, Eddie Bourke, and his family.
Eddie sent in a message of thanks.
Dear Riverwood friends,
On the passing of my beloved wife Patricia, I would like, on behalf of all the family, to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us and helped us through a very difficult time. The words of consolation, the gestures of friendship and the guard of honour on the morning of Patricia’s funeral will never be forgotten.
I realise that words are inadequate at this time but please accept our efforts to say thank you as a deep expression of our gratefulness.
Eddie Bourke
