Kellystown development of 360 units

Castlethorn Construction, builders of Riverwood, Woodbrook, Fernleigh and Riverwood Square, have submitted a planning application to An Bord Pleanala to build 360 units in Kellystown, a mix of houses and apartments.

Units breakdown

The site notice lists the makeup of the 360 units. The building heights will range from 1 to 8 storeys.

There will be 128 own door detached, semi-detached and terraced houses: including: 104 x 3-bed 2-storey houses 24 x 4-bed 2 to 3-storey houses. Each house will have a private rear garden.

The 232 apartment units has 85 x 1 bed units (52 sqm), 142 x 2 bed units (80 sqm) and 5 x 3 bed units (103 sqm). Each apartment will have a private patio/terrace or balcony.

These 232 apartments are spread over in 3 blocks:

  • Block A: 1 to 8 storeys, accommodating 164 apartments (62 x 1-beds and 102 x 2-beds) and a residential amenity area
  • Block B: 4 to 5 storeys, accommodating 41 apartments (12 x 1-beds, 24 x 2-beds and 5 x 3-beds)
  • Block C: 4 to 6 storeys, accommodating 27 apartments (11 x 1-beds and 16 x 2-beds)

Block C will include a childcare facility and retail unit.

Site layout

The maps show the units on either side of Porterstown Road. The houses are all in Kellystown, west of Porterstown Road, with one of the blocks of apartments on the corner of Dr Troy Bridge and Porterstown Road, as seen in the photo shown above.
