The edge of the open space area between Riverwood Way and Luttrellpark View is a known litter black spot. Since October 2012 we have regularly reported littering to the FixYourStreet.ie service.
Late last year Councillor Roderic O’Gorman contacted us about the ongoing problem. We compiled a list of the reports submitted to FixYourStreet.ie. We included all the photos taken. This list was submitted to Fingal County Council and discussed at the Castleknock/Mulhuddart Area Committee meeting on Thursday 25 January 2018. The motion and wider illegal dumping issues were discussed.
Fingal County Council have committed to installing a bin at the kissing gates on the opposite end of the open space area i.e. at the main road. It was noted that the items being dumped at the black spot are not the type that will fit in a regular bin. Fingal County Council also committed to clean up the black spot area.
We thank Councillor O’Gorman for submitting the motion and look forward to the installation of the bin and the ongoing clean up of the litter black spot.
