Recycling Bins – Separate Carefully!

City Bin customers recently received an email from the company about green and brown bins being “contaminated” with inappropriate items.

The email explained that operators of disposal sites will reject the entire bin truck load if inappropriate items are found in the load. This entire load is sent to landfill and this costs the company money (and they will pass this onto customers).
This issue likely applies to Panda too.

The photo above shows glass bottles in the green and brown bins and nappies in the green bin.
Glass is not permitted in either bin as it is dangerous when it breaks. There are multiple glass recycling bins in the area e.g. Tesco, SuperValu, Millennium Park, Coolmine Recycling Centre.

City Bin have a handy guide to what can go in each bin:

Coolmine Recycling Centre
