Significant Development Proposed at Riverwood Dene

Castlethorn Construction, builders of Riverwood estate and Woodbrook apartments, have submitted a planning application for 76 housing units on the lands in front of Riverwood Dene.

The 76 units will be a mixture of houses (3 and 4 bedroom, semi-detached and detached) and apartments (1 to 3 bedroom, in three blocks of 3 to 5 storeys). This is lower than their 2001 planning application for 145 units.

Update: The maps and documents are now available online.

Observations can be submitted to Fingal County Council Planning Department up to Thursday 4 February 2016. Submitting an observation costs €20.

The submissions for the Woodbrook development are online (“Documents” tab). These provide interesting points e.g. impact on traffic.

Update 10 January 2016: Here is a 3D drawing of the proposed development:

Update 23 June 2016: We made a submission on behalf of future residents of this development. We highlighted the tiny amount of open space within the development, the lack of parking. We asked that the developer confirm that our pump house can handle the additional input, that they complete a traffic analysis plan. We also disputed the developer’s assertion that there is sufficient childcare spaces in the area.
