A sincere thank you to the residents that came out on Saturday to help give the estate a good clean. While we did not have big numbers, those that were out worked very hard over long periods to get the job done. Some people were out for over 4 hours!
The Fingal County Council road sweepers were very helpful, the initial pass removed the smaller weeds and then the second pass cleaned up the weeds loosened by the residents. Now the roadside weeds are all gone and litter has been collected throughout the estate. A few groups thinned out the weeds in some common areas.
The committee also negotiated with Fingal County Council Parks Department to provide some plants for the now weed-free common areas. FCC also agreed to begin planting the wild meadow area (the area that they have been working on for the last 12 months).
