In May we reported the committee’s meeting with Fingal County Council’s Operations Department to create a wild meadow on the edge of the green space at Riverwood Copse/Chase.
At the end of May a JCB came along and dug up the low bushes to prepare for the wild meadow seeds. Unfortunately and bizarrely, the dump truck that accompanied the JCB did not remove the mounds of muck. Despite numerous calls to FCC Operations this took almost a month to be resolved.
There are still exposed roots in the area and the committee have highlighted this safety concern to FCC Operations. We will continue to ask them to complete the project.
When the wild meadow seeds are sown the area will be cordoned off for two weeks to allow the seeds to bed and start to grow. We will ask that people do not enter the area for that short period.
